During three evenings, the most interesting animated films of the last year will be presented. We will present short films awarded and distinguished during animation festivals: The Annecy International Animation Film Festival from France and the Etiuda&Anima IFF. In addition, we will show animations by the brilliant Estonian creator Priit Tender, whose films are full of surreal images, black humor, and folklore themes.
The program will also include the latest full-length animations that have been extremely successful at the most important festivals in the world: "Pelikan Blue" dir. László Csáki (Hungary, 2023), “Adam change lentement” dir. Joël Vaudreuil (Canada, 2023) and "Slide" dir. Bill Plympton (USA, 2023). All three animations talk about huge changes taking place in the lives of the characters, including social, physical and mental changes.

Creek.
Bill Plympton jest uważany za króla animacji niezależnej i był pierwszą osobą, która własnoręcznie narysowała cały pełnometrażowy film animowany. W 1987 roku był nominowany do Oscara® za krótkometrażowy film animowany Your Face/Twoja twarz. W 2005 roku Bill otrzymał kolejną nominację do Oscara za swój krótki film Guard Dog/Pies stróżujący. Od 1991 roku nakręcił dziewięć filmów animowanych: The Tune, Mondo Plympton, Ożeniłem się z dziwną osobą, Mutant Aliens, Hair High, Idiots and Angels, Cheatin', Revengeance i Slide.

Animation workshops From moss and ferns
We invite you to sign up for workshops that will take place during the 16th Krakow Summer Animation Days.

During the workshops, participants will learn the secrets of creating stop-motion animation. They will create their own worlds, recalling the most beautiful views from mountain trips, trips to the forest, walks by the sea, or other journeys in nature. They will use paper dyed with natural pigments and real forest treasures.
Course of the workshop: We will start the workshop with an introduction to the basics of stop-motion animation. Then we will watch some examples of short animated films to learn about the possibilities of the technique and get inspired. In the next part of the workshop, we will divide into groups, create scenarios and prepare colored paper from which we will cut out elements of the set design and animation characters. The final stage will be to set the prepared worlds in motion using multiplanes.
Conducting workshops:
Anna Skoczeń (1996) - animator, graphic designer and educator, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow at the Animated Film Studio. She also studied at ENSAD in Paris and at FBAUL in Lisbon. He deals with both commercial and artistic animation, combining traditional and digital techniques. He conducts artistic workshops in cooperation with cultural institutions throughout Poland.
Szymon Wołek (1996) - graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in the Animated Film studio. Author of animated promotional spots for the National Museum in Krakow, the Royal Castle in Warsaw and short animations My Sun and Little Drop. Co-founder of the Rzeczy collective.
