The serie “Europe in short film” has just started. Yesterday we saw the first screening of Austrian short films and three more awaits us. During the following days we will see productions from Hungary, France, Germany and Italy. Perhaps among the artists presenting their short films are the future masters of European cinema.

Boguslaw Zmudziński, director of Etiuda&Anima Film Festival about shorts:
Presented series of screenings of short films from different European countries continues last year’s selection comprising small film forms from Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium and Romania. Still being of the opinion that short films make an extremely important part of mature cinematography, even though they are unfortunately rarely available to mass audience, also this year we present short features, documentaries, animations and experimental films from the next five countries of the Old Continent: Austria, Hungary, France, Germany and Italy. This year the dominating cinematography in this group is this the Austrian one, represented by four screenings which are officially promoting the achievements of this central European country worldwide through the actions of the Austrian Culture Forum. We fully share the opinion of the director and script writer, Susanne Freund, who claims that it is a primary duty of those who care about the film culture to provide opportunities to watch the film gems of the Austrian but also other European cinematographers.
