Saturday's programme and the Closing Ceremony

This Saturday, we start the morning with the children's animations screening at the Kijów Centrum cinema – “Captain Morten and the Spider Queen” and “Tito and the Birds”. In the afternoon, we will see the latest film by Janusz Kondratiuk – “Fighting Like Cat and Dog”, about the difficult relationship of two brothers, and also, the particularly eerie animation - “The Wolf House” by Cristóbal León and Joaquin Cociñ.

We invite you to the National Museum's “Samurai Room”, to participate in the meeting with   Ewa Braun – the laureate of the award of the Special Golden Dinosaur, combined with the screening of the films from scenography/costume/make-up workshops in Lodz Film School.

At the Feliks Jasieński Szołayski House you can take part in the abstract animation workshops  led by Steven Woloshen – this year's self-portraitist.

The closing ceremony will take place in the evening, at the Kijów Centrum cinema. We will begin with the presentation of the annual award for the remarkable filmmaker and teacher to prof. Ewa Braun. Later on, we will finally meet the laureates of the ETIUDA, ANIMA and ANIMA.PL competitions. The ceremony will end with the screening of the awarded films.

“The Wolf House”, dir. Cristóbal León, Joaquin Cociña, CHL 2018, 73’

Film presents us with the possibility to create a feature film where the various elements of beauty, fear, disorder and the narrative itself are born from the same precarious elements that are in permanent states of change. It is the story of a young woman who is hiding in a house, but it is also the story of a physical and mental world that falls apart, destroys itself and renews itself time and again. It is an animal in a state of relentless mutation.

THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE FESTIVAL

Presentation of the award of the Special Golden Dinosaur to prof. Ewa Braun

15-year history of our exceptional award, appreciating the effort of film authors professionally active in the artistic and, at the same time, educational field, is full of surprises, each time resulting from a slightly different cause. For the first time last year a representative of a different profession than film directing, the outstanding cinematographer, Sławomir Idziak, was awarded the Special Golden Dinosaur. This year we award an outstanding artist, set designer, interior designer and pedagogue – Ewa Braun, Oscar winner for “Schindler’s List” by Steven Spielberg. By doing so we, for the first time, award a representative of the female minority in the circle of artistic film professions.

Presentation of the awards and screening of films awarded in ETIUDA, ANIMA, ANIMA.PL competitions
