In a small town, a troupe of actors rehearse a play by the Brother Čapek, “The Life Of Insects”. During the rehearsal, the personal lives of the actors blend with the destiny of the play’s characters.

  1. ANIMA – international competition of animated films

20th – 24th November

ANIMA, the international contest of short animated films, will screen 61 animations selected out of the 1900 submitted ones. This competition will be judged by the jury headed by an Oscar nominee Paul Driessen, and the winners will be awarded Jabberwocky statuettes. As many as seven winners of the previous editions will compete for the Golden Jabberwocky. Each of the six competition screenings will open with a film by one of the Grand Prix winners; the first screening will also close with the latest film from one of the winners.

 

  1. ETIUDA – intcompetition of international student films

20th – 24th November

ETIUDA, the oldest of the three, will feature 35 student films from 15 countries, which will be evaluated by a jury chaired by film director Janusz Kondratiuk.

This is a gripping story of a three-month-long trip that renowned reporter Ryszard Kapuściński took across Angola ravaged by a war in which the front lines shifted like a kaleidoscope from one day to the next. This feature animated film is based on Ryszard Kapuściński’s book “Another Day of Life” (1976).

 

  1. Between the Media

The latest film by Janusz Kondratiuk, the author of the unforgettable “Dziewczyny do wzięcia” (“Marriageable Girls”), is a bittersweet portrait of family relations, inspired by true events. Filled with ironic humour, the story follows the life of an unconventional family in which conflicts and rivalry are intertwined with moments of affection and authentic intimacy.

 

  1. ANIMA.PL – competition of Polish animated films

21st  – 24th November

ANIMA.PL, the Polish animated film contest (held for the second time) will include 40 films out of over 100 submissions. The jury chaired by a Polish filmmaker and teacher Hieronim Neumann, will present the winners in this category with Żmij statuettes.
