In 2021, the National Museum in Krakow opened a permanent one exhibition XX + XXI. Polish Art Gallery, which is an overview of the phenomena i artistic tendencies that have appeared in Poland over the last 120 years. In 12 rooms, on the area of 3,000 square meters of the Gallery, are located in a total of 600 works of art from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to the present day. once for the first time in the history of the National Museum in Krakow, works from the 21st century were presented age. The arrangement is not entirely chronological, in some places it has character thematic. A novelty is a room with works of conceptual and abstract art and a significant presentation of the sculpture. They also appeared in the exhibition works of Krakow graphic artists active in the second half of the 20th century. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Painting has found its place in the first room of the Gallery beginning of the 20th century, created by Jacek Malczewski, Stanis\u0142aw Wyspia\u0144ski, J\u00f3zef Mehoffer, Wojciech Weiss, Olga Bozna\u0144ska, Jan Stanis\u0142awski. The second room is devoted to works from the interwar period: expressionists, formists, colourists, avant-garde artists, e.g. Zbigniew Pronaszko, Stanis\u0142aw Ignacy Witkiewicz and Maria Jarema. Another space is a review of post-war art until 1989: socialist realism, tachisme, painting of matter, surrealism, abstract expressionism, new figuration, art involved. Representative works were gathered in a separate room geometric abstraction and conceptualism, e.g. works by Edward Krasi\u0144ski, Roman Opa\u0142ka, Wojciech Fangor, Natalia LL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art after 1989 is collected under the title \"Transformation\". Works from the last thirty years are presented here, including Zofia Kulik, Wilhelm Sasnal, Piotr Ukla\u0144ski and Jaros\u0142aw Kozakiewicz. The exhibition is also accompanied by a screening of animated and experimental films artists such as Julian J\u00f3zef Antoniszczak, Jan Lenica or Jerzy Kucia, which was for our tour group a nice touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

XX + XXI. The Polish Art Gallery served as inspiration for the realization of the project flurry. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title of the project has two meanings \u2013 firstly, art it touches the most sensitive strings in us, arouses a lot of emotions, both positive and negative and negative ones, and secondly, during the workshops the participants set things in motion paintings, graphics and sculptures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants of the workshop started their participation in the project from visits to the National Museum, where they were looking for inspiration. Everyone chose one or several works on the basis of which he intended to make stop-motion animation. Then, under the supervision of the instructors, the animation technique was selected, including: painting with oil paint on the glass, sculpting in plasticine, cutout, drawing, collage. All participants also took part in creating a coherent storyboard connecting individual works of art. The last task was to assemble the whole and sound animations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a direct result of the workshop, three animated films were made, which can be seen on the foundation's website fundacja.etiudaandanima.pl<\/a> and the playkrakow.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
