We <\/strong>have reached<\/strong> the halfway point of the f<\/strong>estival's<\/strong> marathone. There are <\/strong>still <\/strong>three eventful days ahead of us. We want to introduce you to the Thursday's diverse programme. At the Kij\u00f3w Centrum cinema, we will show <\/strong>you <\/strong>two screenings of ten short films by Jan \u0160vankmajer, chosen by Bogus\u0142aw Zmudzi\u0144ski \u2013 the artistic director of the Etiuda&Anima festival. The second part of the <\/strong>\u201c<\/strong>Self-Portraits of Animation Authors\u201d series, will be held by Steven Woloshen \u2013 a Canadian film animator who uses drawn-on-film animation technique. As <\/strong>the<\/strong> part of the <\/strong>\u201c<\/strong>Between the Media<\/strong>\u201d <\/strong>series, we invite you to attend the meeting, hosted by Virgil Widrich from Austria \u2013 a director of the Academy<\/strong>-nominated short film \u201cCopy Shop\u201d. <\/em><\/strong>We will <\/strong>also <\/strong>show <\/strong>you <\/strong>two full-length animations: \u201cAnother Day of Life\u201d by Damian Nenow and Ra\u00fal de la Fuente, based on the Ryszard Kapu\u015bci\u0144ski's reporting, and \u201cLaika\u201d, <\/em>the latest film by Aurel Klimta, about the most famous dog in the world. Today, our young audience, <\/strong>can<\/strong> watch a Brazilian animation \u201cTito and the Birds\u201d, <\/em>and \u201cJacek i Placek\u201d \u2013 <\/em>a well-known cartoon film with the Lady Punk music. Come to the Ma\u0142opolska Garden of Art for the Etiuda&Anima competition screenings, and for the ANIMA.PL competition, which ends today. This will also be the last stage of the sentimental journey with the student films awarded on the occasion of our 25th<\/sup> anniversary. As for other events this day, we will show <\/strong>you <\/strong>the documentary, \u201cOratorio for Prague Seven Days to Remember\u201d (1968), by Jan N\u0115mec. This is a gripping story of a three-month-long trip that renowned reporter Ryszard Kapu\u015bci\u0144ski took across Angola ravaged by a war in which the front lines shifted like a kaleidoscope from one day to the next. This feature animated film is based on Ryszard Kapu\u015bci\u0144ski\u2019s book \u201cAnother Day of Life\u201d (1976). It includes the author\u2019s experiences and thoughts from the beginning (1974-1975) of the conflict, which has ended in 2002. The animation, directed by Damian Nenow and Ra\u00fal de la Fuente, premiered at this year\u2019s Cannes film festiwal.<\/p>\n

This is an animated science fiction comedy film. It is inspired by Soviet space dog Laika. Life is not easy for Laika, a dog on the outskirts of a big Russian city. She is caught and forcibly retrained to become a pioneer in astronautics. Soon after her lift-off into space, a number of animals follow that are hurriedly launched from Houston and Baikonur. Laika, the famous canine pioneer, lives! A small planet on the outskirts of the galaxy has become the new home of the animals we sent into space and lost forever.<\/p>\n

One day they decide to escape the town and look for such a land. During their long journey the twins have lots of various adventures.<\/p>\n
