23rd<\/sup> International Film Festival <\/strong> <\/p>\n Results of the ANIMA competition<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Jury:<\/strong> On November 25th<\/sup> 2016, after seeing 68 competition films from 30 countries, the Jury decided to award the prizes to the following films:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Grand Prix of the Festival \u2013 the Golden Jabberwocky and PLN<\/strong> 15,000 <\/strong>go to<\/p>\n BEFORE LOVE <\/em><\/strong> \u201eWe were taken by the technical perfection of the film\u2019s visuals and sound. Humor permeates jealousy and romance in the smallest detail\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Silver Jabberwocky<\/strong> goes to<\/p>\n NO\u010cNA PTICA \/ NIGHTHAWK<\/em><\/strong> \u201eThis is like a different kind of road movie. The film is well animated and uses a complex multi plan technique. This film deals with an important topic that is often difficult to talk about in an original way\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Bronze Jabberwocky<\/strong> goes to<\/p>\n CAF<\/em><\/strong>\u00c9 <\/em><\/strong>FROID \/ COLD COFFEE <\/em><\/strong> \u201eTo a film that we felt portrayed the descent into insanity in a way that both horrified and mesmeriezed us\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Furthermore, the<\/strong> Special Golden Jabberwocky and 2000 PLN <\/strong>for the best school film go to<\/p>\n CIA\u0141O OBCE \/ FOREIGN BODY<\/em><\/strong> \u201eThis film was beautifully rendered with an economy of line which was also gritty and edgy, conveying a forceful message about social and personal complexes and anxieties\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n HONOURABLE MENTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n Nancy Denney-Phelps<\/b> awarded an honourable mention to<\/p>\n TICK TACK<\/em><\/strong> \u201eTo a film that combines excellent storytelling with inpecible technique\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Anita Killi<\/b> awarded an honourable mention to<\/p>\n AU REVOIR BALTHAZAR<\/em><\/strong> \u201eMy special mention goes to a film narrated in a poetic way, that surprised me and toutched me in the end. The technique, the animation and the graphic style fits the story perfectly.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Andrzej Klimowski<\/b> awarded an honourable mention to<\/p>\n FIGURY NIEMO\u017bLIWE I INNE HISTORIE II \/ IMPOSSIBLE FOGURES AND OTHER STORIES II<\/em><\/strong> \u201eWe live or most of us have at some time lived in an urban enviroment. The buildings and houses we inhabit we think of as solid, yet, Marta Pajek\u2019s film questions this, taking us ona journey which is unsettling. It is a beautiful nightmare, a visual poem\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Georges Schwizgebel<\/b> awarded an honourable mention to<\/p>\n CHEZ MOI \/ MY HOME<\/em><\/strong> \u201eThe film transported me into a fantastic world, where I was enchanted by the emotion that comes from a child\u2019s view on reality which it cannot comprehend\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Andreas Hykade<\/b> awarded an honourable mention to<\/p>\n KOMPOZICIJA \/ COMPOSITION<\/em><\/strong> \u201eFor keeping me vital, excited and alive, while still leaving space for my imagination\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Great Underestimated<\/strong><\/p>\n special award from Bogus\u0142aw Zmudzi\u0144ski - Artistic Director of Etiuda&Anima IFF<\/p>\n \u0160UMA and KUT<\/em><\/strong> STUDENT JURY VERDICT<\/strong><\/p>\n Anna Kubinka, Martyna Ho\u0142da and Marzena Pitek awarded<\/p>\n PENELOPE<\/em><\/strong> \u201eWe honour a student, yet mature film that uses form smoothly and creatively, and with lightness and humor introduces us into a tangled reality of Penelope, who we met at the moment of trial. The sharpness of observation goes hand in hand with dynamic narration and the freedom of line.
