At 23. IFF Etiuda&Anima, Andreas Hykade will meet the festival's audience during \"Self-Portraits of Animation Authors\". Our guest, who combines creative work and teaching, will receive the Special Golden Dinosaur which is awarded to an outstanding artist turned pedagogue.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Andreas Hykade is the director of animated films: \u201eThe Country Trilogy\u201d (\u201eWe Lived in Grass\u201d [1995], \u201eRing of Fire\u201d [2000], \u201cThe Runt\u201d [2006], and \u201cLove & Theft\u201d (2010), \u201cNuggets\u201d (2015). At present, he is working at his first feature-length film \u2013 \u201cAlt\u00f6tting\u201d. Hykade is the author of music videos for Italian DJ Gigi d\u00b4Agostino and German band Die Toten Hosen.<\/p>\n

He won many awards in animation, among others: grand prize for best short film Ottawa (2000) for \u201eRing of Fire\u201d, grand prize Black Nights Festival Talinn (2006) and Fipresci award Annecy (2007) for \u201cThe Runt\u201d. His work was shown in numerous retrospectives: <\/strong>Ottawa Animation Festival in Canada (2003), Bradford Animation Festival in England (2006), Utrecht Animation Festival in Netherlands (2006), Museum of Modern Art in New York (2007), Anima Mundi Animation Festival in Brazil (2008), Kuunstimuuseum Tallinn in Estonia (2009), Forum des Images in France (2010, 2015), Animafest Zagreb in Croatia (2012), Animpact in South Korea (2013).<\/p>\n

Since 2015 Hykade is the director of the Institute of Animation at the Filmakademie Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg in Germany, since 2008 he has taught animation at Harvard University (USA). He had workshops and masterclasses in Royal College of Arts London, Netherlands Institute of Animated Film, Shenkar College Tel Aviv, Cinemateque Quebecoise.<\/p>\n

He is visiting Poland for the second time this year, as in September he took part, as a pedagogue, in the 24th International Animation Workshops in Lanckorona.<\/p>\n

During this year's edition of IFF Etiuda&Anima, prof. Andreas Hykade will receive the Special Golden Dinosaur for an outstanding artist turned pedagogue.<\/p>\n
