Outstanding american saxist, who worked with such personalities as Frank Zappa, Jo Lemaire, Eric Johnson, Lou Rawls. For about ten years he has been working with Tom Waits on music projects like: \u201eThe Black Rider\u201d, \u201eBunny\u201d, \u201eMule\u201d \u201eVariations to Alice\u201d, \u201eBlood Money\u201d and \u201eOrphans: Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards\u201d.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11923 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/etiudaandanima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Nik_Phelps.1.jpg\" alt=\"nik_phelps-1\" width=\"330\" height=\"500\" \/><br \/>\nCurrently he lives in Belgium, working and giving concerts with groups The Sprocket Ensemble, JazzDelivery, The Farfoel Trio and The Cabaretti Orchestra. Since 1995 he is composing music for animated movies including CBS TV series \u201cThe Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat\u201d. In 1996 he was nominated for an ASIFA Annie Award for his music. In the same year he founded the Sprocket Ensemble - a project that combines live music and animation. Presently he is composing for such animation artist as Nina Paley, Bill Plympton, Lei Lei and Ivan Maximov.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size:13px; line-height:20px; text-align:justify;\"><strong>Stanis\u0142aw S\u0142owi\u0144ski Quintet<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size:13px; line-height:20px; text-align:justify;\">Inspired by the classics of Polish jazz and under a strong influence of the sonoric richness and complexity of modern classical music, the band\u2019s priority is creating its own individual sound built upon the outcome of emotions within the music.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11925 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/etiudaandanima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Stanislaw-Slowinski-Quintet-11.jpg\" alt=\"stanislaw-slowinski-quintet-11\" width=\"403\" height=\"600\" \/><br \/>\nThe members of the group have participated in many competitions and festivals, among others: 39th International Contest of Young Jazz Bands JAZZ JUNIORS 2015 \u2013 Grand Prix and Special Prize, 1st International Zbigniew Seifert Violin Competition \u2013 Audience Award, Nine Gates Jazz Festival Beijing, WOMAD Chile, Open\u2019er Festival, Off Festival, M\u0119skie Granie, Slot Art Festival.
